Where is the Black Brumale truffle found?


Harvested between November and March, the Tuber brumale is harvested in the same place as the Périgord black truffle, Tuber Brumale is a winter truffle that shares soils and seasons with the Tuber Melanosporum truffle.


Black truffles winter black truffle or brumale winter tubercle, produces its fruit in clay and calcareous soils at intermediate altitudes between 400 and 1,000 meters unlike other truffle species. This fungus prefers the most humid and shady areas.


Its geographical distribution is wide and extends almost throughout Italy and in many European countries there are also numerous plants to which it is associated with the inevitable oaks and other broad-leaved trees such as limes and conifers.
